This is an entry for  's contest. Which you can still enter btw! D: It ends September 5th, so you guys got like... 15 days still to whip out an entry! Can you see this picture? XD It's sooo dark.... *turns up brightness on computer* Lol... I don't really have a story for this picture. XD I guess what I was thinking about was... Eloise (the multi-colored hair girl) heard that this old house was haunted and decided to investigate. However, she got in over her head and stumbled into Joy (the bloodied up girl), who is an assassin/serial killer... and who is also definitely not so happy to have been found. o_O Blergh, I'm still not sure if I'm 100% finished with this piece. XD I'll update it with a better version if I can figure out what seems so unfinished about it.  Oh, and I apologize about the cobwebs. I've NEVER drawn them before. D: So I hope they look okay enough... And I've never done backlighting before either. DX So... there is probably some things incorrect with the lighting. But other than all THAT... Critiques
That being said, you asked for contsructive criticism so I'll try to give it XD I don't see a lot of tecnical problems, really, but there are things that could make it more dynamic. I think maybe you could have put the picture on a bit of an angle to add some dynamicism, and taking away a bit of the space at the top would tighten the view and add some tension.
The girl in the background, Eloise, is really well drawn and coloured, but she seems a bit stiff for this scene. I like her hand a lot, and her pose, and her expression is really great, but I think most of the problem is her head vs. the rest of her body. Her head is really upright, as if she'd been standing normally. I think the problem would be solved if her chin was turned up a bit... realistically, her head wouldn't be facing straight ahead at that sort of angle, her head would be lifted a bit.
Another issue for me is the flashhlight. I like how the light is now, it's cartoony and stylized, but still realistic in how it fades out. But if you were to go for a more realistic style I don't think the light from the flashlight would stretch out that far. Also, if it were to face directly at the 'camera', if the flashlight was the only light source the light would be so overwhelming it'd be extremely difficult to see anything else. So in the future it'd be better to have the light facing just a little bit to the side... a small circle with the light shining out in front of it (sorry it's so hard to explain with just words!) XD
One last thing, you did Eloise's eyes really well, but considering the light's coming from behind Joy, her eyes probably shouldn't be so white, but more blue like the shaded part you did. I really like the harsh lighitng you did on Joy, but I think you could increase the contrast even more if you wanted.
I really like that there's wallpaper and wood texture... you really know how to use textures well.
I know it sounds like a lot of negative stuff, but overall I really like this!
